Hi, I'm Michael from Konigi. Unigraph saves your writing as Markdown files, plain text you can open in any text editor. You see headings, bold, and italic text as you type. Select a passage to get AI help with editing, then review each suggestion before applying it.
AI editing is optional. Add your own Anthropic API key to use it. Unigraph uses samples of your writing to build a profile of your style. You can also choose common AI writing habits to avoid, such as overused phrases. The editor works without a key, and your files stay in your folders.
Add a folder to the library as a Location, or open a Markdown file directly from Finder. Browse your documents, images, and PDFs together. Drag files and folders to move them, and press ⌘Z to undo an accidental deletion. Changes save automatically to the original files, including notes you use in Obsidian.
Headings, bold, italic text, and links appear formatted as you write. Markdown symbols fade on all but the line you are editing, so the text is easier to read. You can write and see the formatting in the same view.
Files open in Preview. Press a key to switch to Edit and back. You can check off tasks and save those changes to the file, open links in your browser, and view Mermaid diagram code as a diagram. Press ⌘P to print the formatted page.
Add a table from the toolbar or slash menu, then click a cell to type. Use Tab and Enter to move between cells. Hover over a row or column to add or delete it. Tables save as Markdown, and ⌘Z undoes your edits.
Select text and choose Improve, Check rules, or another editing option from the toolbar. Ask Unigraph to shorten or simplify a passage, or write your own instruction. Each suggestion includes notes about the changes. Your draft only changes when you click Apply.
Add a few samples of your writing, and Unigraph builds a profile of your style, including words to avoid. Choose which common AI writing habits to remove using the built-in checklist. Suggestions follow your profile and the rules you select.
On Macs with Apple Intelligence, you can use Apple Writing Tools to proofread, rewrite, or summarize selected text. Open them with a right-click or from the selection menu. These tools work without an Anthropic API key.
Unigraph edits plain Markdown files in folders you choose. You can use the same files with Obsidian, Git, or another text editor. Your writing stays where you saved it, even if you stop using Unigraph.

No. You can write and edit without one. Add an Anthropic API key in Settings if you want to use Unigraph's AI editing suggestions.
Your files stay in your folders, and Unigraph has no server that collects them. When you request an AI suggestion, the app sends your selected text, the surrounding paragraph, your writing profile, and your checklist of rules directly to Anthropic. Your writing samples are sent when you click Generate to build a profile; they are not included in later editing requests. Your API key stays in the macOS Keychain. Without a key, Unigraph's AI editing is off.

Yes. Add a folder of Markdown files as a Location in the library. Unigraph edits the original files, so you can keep using them with Obsidian, Git, or another text editor. You can also open individual files from Finder and make Unigraph your default Markdown editor.
Apple Writing Tools can proofread, rewrite, and summarize selected text without an Anthropic API key. They require an Apple Silicon Mac with Apple Intelligence enabled and macOS 15.1 or later. Open them with a right-click, or from Unigraph's selection menu on macOS 15.2 or later.
Unigraph edits Markdown files (.md, .markdown, and .mdx) and plain text (.txt). You can also view images and PDFs in the library, or drag an image into a document to add a Markdown image link. Preview displays Mermaid diagram code as a diagram.
Unigraph is not available yet. I'll announce pricing at release, and the editor will be free to try. AI suggestions use your own Anthropic API key, with no AI subscription paid to me.
